UPDATE SATURDAY 2nd JUNE
As we move into the weekend, we have another update to share with you which contains some very positive news!
After meeting with our insurers yesterday, assessing the damage and what needs to be done in order to become operational again, we are looking at being able to re-open lots of the centre on Saturday 9th June. This is best case scenario and the current roadmap assumes no hidden problems further down the line but at this point everything is looking very positive.
The main room, group room, cave, temporary reception, upstairs café and toilets should all be operational again within this timeframe. Unfortunately we will not be able to provide disabled toilet access until we are fully operational once again.
The bouldering room mats were hit very badly by the flood and despite our best efforts to save them unfortunately need to be replaced in full. We have ordered new matting and it should be winging its way to us very shortly, but the lead time on this is 3 weeks so the bouldering room will be out of commission until this point. We will keep everyone updated as to the exact opening time of the bouldering room, but the good news is, this allows us time to make a few alterations...(watch this space). We are also currently resetting the group room in full, so there will be a host of new routes in there for everyone to enjoy.
We have been overwhelmed by the support and kind wishes from all the members of our community and thank you once again for working with us during this process. We are very much looking forward to seeing you again very soon. We are also working on a big re-opening event and have wheeled the BBQ out of storage...it is summer after all!
We are committed to ensuring that we look after all of you as our customers and as we have some more definite answers on timeframes we will be making contact to arrange how things like Direct Debits will work. Please do bear with us on this, but you can call us on 01604 875996 at any time if you want to talk things through. We are trying to get stuck in with making the centre ready so if we don't manage to answer, leave a message and we will come straight back to you.
We cannot wait to welcome you all back to a fresh new Pinnacle in the very near future.
UPDATE FROM WEDNESDAY 30th MAY
UPDATE WEDNESDAY 30TH MAY
Following the severe storms in Northampton on Sunday evening, as you know The Pinnacle was flooded and we have been forced to close our doors for the first time in almost 8 years.
We have all been busy on the clear-up operation, and will keep you posted as and when we have more information, and especially when we know when we will be opening again for you to resume your regular climbing.
Today we will start putting regular posts on Facebook, to keep you right up to date with progress, and would ask you to like our Facebook page and share our posts with as many friends and family as possible.
You can see from the picture below, a large amount of water covered most of the downstairs, although we are pleased to report that the main climbing areas and the cave escaped unscathed.
We are also very pleased to say that all our electrics, computer systems, CCTV and networking facilities have been unharmed, so it is business as usual for us here in the office, and we will be here to take your calls during normal opening hours.
Our insurers are working with us to help us resume day to activities as soon as possible, but with a high level of claims around the country are only able to begin their inspections tomorrow, and install drying equipment with heaters on Friday. Once these processes have begun we will have more idea about the length of time we will be closed for.
All of the team are working extremely hard to get things up and running again as quickly as possible, and we have all been overwhelmed by all the generous offers of help we have had from customers and well-wishers. Thank you!
If you have sessions booked in with us, or have any questions please call
01604 875996 and we will be able to help you.
We are sad to report that we have been affected by the severe flooding that has hit Far Cotton this afternoon. As such, we will temporarily have to close the centre to deal with the affects of the flooding. We should know more within the next few days, so please bare with us whilst we take stock and get everything up and running again and we will report progress via our Facebook page and emails. If you would like anymore information or have sessions booked with us over the next few days, please do give us a call on 01604 875996 and we can give you some more information.
To anyone else that has been affected by todays flooding we would like to send out our condolences and hope that you can get everything sorted out ASAP, stay safe out there everyone!
