Meet The Team
From the initial idea, as a child, of building a climbing wall, Simon realised his dream through the creation of The Pinnacle.
Simon has a passion for the outdoors, which has had a major impact on his life. In his spare time he is a keen ice climber and mountaineer, eager to explore the greater ranges but can often be found climbing on the rock outcrops around Great Britain.
Managing Director & Centre Manager
Mikey is our newly appointed Centre Manager. With a background in the leisure industry Mikey brings a fresh enthusiasm to the centre.
Relatively new to climbing he’s keenly adding climbing to an array of sports he enjoys such as Rugby and Cricket. This will now be a face you’ll see a lot more of around the centre.
Suzy is currently on maternity leave, we look forward to welcoming her back in 2018.
Penny is our lovely administrator and odd one out, as she likes to keep her feet firmly on the ground. Her passions are racquet sports and Nordic Walking.
As our head of finances she will often be your main point of contact when you phone or email to enquire about payments. Although Penny works from home or hides away in the back office a lot of the time, when she is around the centre, she brightens up the whole place.
Cee is one of our CWLA instructors at the centre. She has been working here for a few years and has recently started getting back into her climbing after returning from maternity leave and having two little girls.
Although she is only in a few days a week, she is always available to answer questions or give advice.
Duty Manager & Instructor
Jordan is a CWLA qualified instructor with boundless enthusiasm and energy and a great sense of humour. He is also a qualified chef but decided to make the move from catering to full time climbing instructor, following his love of the sport.
It would be a shame to waste talent like his so when he isn’t instructing he is either making food for parties and groups or baking the tastiest brownies and flapjacks ever made.
Luke is a CWLA qualified instructor. He left his job as a specialist outdoor instructor in Newcastle to join The Pinnacle Team.
Along with climbing he also has his qualifications to teach quad biking, fencing, bush craft, high ropes, archery and kayaking. Having climbed for 12 years, Luke is a patient and encouraging instructor who is always willing to give great advice to anyone.
Tom can often be seen around reception welcoming people into the centre.
He is a very keen climber, constantly trying to improve himself and climb harder. Tom is CWLA qualified and working on building up his list of qualifications. He has also recently discovered a penchant for Caribbean food.
