What's going on?

The competition will consist of 2 qualifying routes which will be demo'd.  The top qualifiers will then go into isolation for the final routes.  This is the same format as the British Lead Climbing Championships and would be good practice for anyone wanting to compete at this level.  However it is also meant to be good fun and the first qualification route will be fairly easy.  The competition is open to anyone and not meant to be eliteist. 

Age Categories

Junior - age 15 and under, (top rope only)

Open - any age

Veterans - 40 and over

Timings

Doors open, and competition registration: 8:30am

Qualification rounds: 9:30am

Finals: 2:30pm

Lecture: 5:30pm

There will be a few other fun comps going on during the day as well including a dyno comp and raffle routes, (climb a designated route to get a raffle ticket to enter a prize draw.  These comps will be free to enter. 

 

Steve McClure Lecture

Steve is one of the best climbers in Britain.  If you're not sure who he is then you can find out more about him on his website, www.steve-mcclure.com.

After the comp Steve will be giving a lecture.  Having been to a couple of his lectures before I can tell you they are pretty good, and if you have any interest in climbing , definately worth going to.
