Dry Tooling Events:

We run Dry Tooling events for interested groups of people here at The Pinnacle Climbing Centre. Please contact us at the centre if you wish to express interest in a dry tooling session; you never know, you may even help us decide the next set of dates! 

Price:  Normal entry plus £10

All kit hire is included in the price.  No previous experience is necessary, please ask at reception or get in touch via phone or email if you need any more information.

What is Dry Tooling?

When done outdoors dry tooling is climbing on rock, but using ice axes and crampons.  When dry tooling indoors we use rock boots instead of crampons but we do use ice ixes.  For the dry tooling nights at the centre we set routes specifically for the event and put wooden boards behind the holds so that they won't be damged by the axes.  We also have a number of wooden logs and a car tyre that we use to make the routes a bit more three dimensional.  There are some photos of previous dry tooling nights in the "events, courses and facilities" gallery.
